Testimonials: Afternoon Tea
I spoke to my son today and he said how his girlfriend enjoyed her gluten free afternoon tea, She said it was the best she had ever had and the cakes were lovely.
It was one of the nicest afternoon teas I've had, I've tried various from local to high end in a 5*. We had to wait a while for our food and drink to arrive and had to ask for our tea and milk once the food had arrived. Setting was lovely. Would definitely come back. It must be beautiful in the summer.
Very attentive staff. I took my four month old baby and was helped by staff with the pram due to the various steps on the way to the restaurant. The tea was nice and hot. Sandwiches were fresh and the scones I think were my favourite part - very tasty and perfect texture. There must be a good pastry chef around!
I chose this venue for my friends special birthday because she and her husband had their wedding reception here some years ago. The hotel was beautiful for their summer wedding and the hotel didn’t disappoint on a gloomy autumn afternoon. Very cosy surroundings good food and good choices of tea. The attentive staff were very friendly and it was a very good experience from booking to leaving the hotel. Good value for money and I would not hesitate to recommend this venue.

Took a friend for her birthday to afternoon tea (1st July) and we had such a pleasant experience. Great selection of sandwiches, cakes and savouries and it was plentiful. I was so surprised that they even had de caffeinated tea! Perfect for me! The service was excellent and the staff were welcoming and friendly. I liked the welcome upon arrival to the front door...we were greeted by a pleasant chap who walked us to the Mary Beale restaurant as opposed to just making our own way there...that to me is great customer service and that's what I will remember the most! I would definitely return and would certainly recommend it to friends. The west lodge hotel is stunning with beautiful grounds. Thank you for a wonderful afternoon!
