Enfield Golf Club

Traditional, but with a modern approach to all golfers and visitor’s needs, Enfield Golf Club has something for everyone – both members and visitors. The Course and Clubhouse are situated in beautiful surroundings and offer both new and experienced golfers a chance to play a picturesque, 18-hole parkland course.

The Club was one of the first 500 to be founded in the UK and was first established in 1893. By 1903 James Braid, himself a fine golfer and Open Champion, had completed the design and construction of the 18-hole course. Few changes have been made since that time and essentially the course retains its original character.

However, additional works carried out over the past few years, on a new irrigation system, comprehensive drainage works and new tees and bunkers, all ensure that the course continues to evolve and keep pace with the modern game – it provides a fair test for golfers of all standards, ideal for a golf weekend away. Club membership continues to grow and go from strength to strength and visitors are always afforded a warm and friendly welcome.

Enfield Golf Club is well known locally for excellent bar and catering facilities and an increasing number of Social Members. Finally, as we are situated in the heart of North London, we are within easy reach of the M25, Hertfordshire and Essex – getting here couldn’t be easier!

PGA qualified professional coaching staff will be on hand, should you wish to book a lesson, and the fully stocked Pro-shop sells an extensive choice of clothing, accessories and hardware, backed by Flightscope, the latest 3d radar technology. A full range of golfing equipment, including buggies, is also available for hire. All tee times and lessons should be booked in advance, by calling the Pro-shop direct on 020 8362 3223.

Dyrham Park Country Club

Dyrham Park Country Club is set majestically in a 200-acre Hertfordshire estate that dates back to Elizabethan times. The current listed 19th century manor house was restored in 1963 and is now the grand centrepiece of one of the most outstanding of Hertfordshire golf courses. Designed by the well-known C.K. Cotton – perhaps one of the most influential golf architects of the mid-twentieth century – the 6,428 yard parkland course presents a challenging, but ultimately enjoyable and playable course for golfers of all standards.

Recently ranked No.9 Golf Course in Hertfordshire by Top 100 Golf Courses, Dyrham Park Country Club epitomises the philosophy, “no risk, no reward”. Several holes boast challenging water features with the 7th being a spectacular signature hole tempting bigger hitters to take the 200-yard direct line to the green. Recent renovations to the 11th and 13th holes have seen the introduction of two impressive new lakes that provide genuine and daunting challenges to golfers of all handicaps. Reservations should be made in advance through the Pro-Shop on 020 8440 3904. Handicap certificates are required.

Verulam Golf Club

Welcome to Verulam Golf Club, home of the Ryder Cup…

Verulam Golf Club was established in 1905 and the challenging 6,429 yards (par 72) course was designed by James Braid so we are now well into our second century as a thriving members’ club situated in the heart of historic St Albans, known as Verulamium in Roman times.

The Club takes great pride in the condition of its course and the pace and subtlety of its greens. The course is fast-draining and is rarely closed, even in winter, so you can be assured of a challenging but fair test at any time of the year. Off the course, you will find a warm welcome in the traditional clubhouse essential for golf weekend away.

Verulam Golf Club has a tradition steeped in the game of golf. Samuel Ryder, a wealthy St Albans seed merchant, Captain of the Club and prolific supporter of early professional golf, donated the Ryder Cup in 1926. His biennial competition between Europe and the USA is now, without doubt, the most important match play event in the world of golf.
