The Garden Pavilion at West Lodge Park is being constructed during the January and February 2021 lockdown on the Croquet lawn under the glorious giant redwoods.

This rather splendid building will be in solid oak with a cedar shingle gabled roof, and will be raised 600mm off the ground to give it extra prominence for a special occasion.

Despite the wet January weather the Estates team at the hotel are removing the current tilting wall on the croquet lawn, and setting out the foundations for this pavilion
January 15th 2021
The Garden Pavilion will be licensed for wedding ceremonies with Enfield Registry Office, and will also be available to hire for barbecues, conference lunches, renewal of vows ceremonies, private lunches, funeral gatherings, croquet games, and numerous other special occasions, once we get out of lockdown of course!
The slabs are going down well on the compacted MOT base which lifts the new garden pavilion 600mm or more above the grass. Lucky and Paul are on this job.
The garden pavilion is quite a complicated structure, and will take a while to build by Steve and Roy, with scaffolding being needed to reach the roof.
Unfortunately, the tilting wall works are on hold due to the wet ground conditions - we will do our best but this major job might not be completed until the end of May, and the grounds will need to be restored after that, so I doubt that the croquet lawn will be a lettable space for weddings and functions much before July.
